USCIS Launches Premium Processing & Online Filing

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) recently announced two new services that will make the immigration process faster, easier, and more convenient for applicants. These services are the Premium Processing Service and Online Filing for select forms. The USCIS believes that these new services will enhance customer experience and streamline application processing. Below are the details of each service.

USCIS Launches Premium Processing Service

The Premium Processing Service is a new option offered by USCIS that allows applicants to expedite the processing of their immigration application. This service is available for certain visa classifications and employment-based immigration petitions, including H-1B, L-1, O-1, and TN nonimmigrant visas, as well as I-140 immigrant petitions. With this service, USCIS guarantees a 15-calendar day processing time, and if they fail to meet the deadline, they will refund the $2,500 fee.

The Premium Processing Service was previously suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but it has now resumed. Applicants who wish to use this service must file Form I-907, Request for Premium Processing Service, and pay the $2,500 fee in addition to the regular filing fee. USCIS will then prioritize their application and notify them of their decision within 15 calendar days. The Premium Processing Service is an excellent option for those who need to expedite their application due to urgent travel or employment needs.

USCIS Introduces Online Filing for Select Forms

USCIS has also introduced online filing for select forms, which will make the application process faster and more convenient for applicants. This new option is available for Form I-90, Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card, and Form N-400, Application for Naturalization. Applicants can now submit their applications online, pay the required fees, and receive immediate confirmation of their submission.

The online filing option also comes with several benefits, including a streamlined application process, electronic payment options, and the ability to track the status of their application online. This new option is part of USCIS’s ongoing efforts to modernize their systems and improve customer service. USCIS plans to expand online filing to additional forms in the future.

The USCIS’s Premium Processing Service and Online Filing option are welcome developments that will make the immigration process faster, more convenient, and more efficient for applicants. These new services will also help USCIS to meet its goal of providing excellent customer service to all applicants. If you are an applicant who needs to expedite your application or wants to take advantage of the online filing option, visit the USCIS website for more information.
